Kathleen Syme Library English Conversation Group

Join us at Kathleen Syme Library for a free, relaxed conversation group facilitated by a native speaker of English. Groups are limited so bookings are essential. Topics range from Aussie slang to current events, travel, food and culture.

Sessions run face to face in Meeting Room 3, Kathleen Syme Library, 251 Farraday St Carlton VIC 3053.

Bookings open two days before each session and are limited. If you are unable to attend, please remember to cancel your booking to ensure others can attend.

PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND IF YOU HAVE COVID OR HAVE ANY COVID SYMPTOMS WHATSOEVER.

These sessions are free and run by volunteers who give their time to welcome newcomers to the city. Please be respectful of one another at all times and be on time so you don't miss introductions.

The City of Melbourne respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land we govern, the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung and Bunurong Boon Wurrung peoples of the Eastern Kulin and pays respect to their Elders past, present and emerging. We acknowledge and honour the unbroken spiritual, cultural and political connection the Wurundjeri, Bunurong, Dja Dja Wurrung, Taungurung and Wadawurrung peoples of the Eastern Kulin have to this unique place for more than 2000 generations. We are committed to our reconciliation journey, because at its heart, reconciliation is about strengthening relationships between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal peoples, for the benefit of all Victorians.
